Why these tools exist

Most job search advice is confidently stated and untestable. “Keep it to one page.” “Use strong action verbs.” “Beat the ATS.” Some of it is true, some is folklore that survived because it sounds sensible, and almost none of it comes with a way to check your own document against it.

These tools are the checkable parts. Each one answers a single narrow question about the CV in front of you, immediately and for free, without an account. Where the honest answer is “it depends”, the tool says so and explains what it depends on rather than inventing a rule.

What each one is for

• Resume length checker — whether your document is the right length for your career stage and target market, and what to cut first if it is not. Length conventions differ sharply between the US, UK and continental Europe, so the answer depends on where you are applying.
• ATS keyword checker — which requirements in a job advert your CV does not currently answer. This is the gap that most often removes a qualified candidate before a person reads anything.
• Resume action verbs — a reference for replacing “responsible for” with something that describes what you actually did. Verb choice is one of the few pieces of standard advice that survives scrutiny: a bullet starting with a concrete verb almost always carries more information than one starting with a noun phrase.
• PPP salary calculator — what a salary in one country is genuinely worth in another, adjusted for purchasing power. Essential if you are weighing an international offer, where a larger number frequently means less money in practice.

How they fit together

They are deliberately narrow, and the sequence that works is roughly: get the content right, then the keywords, then the length, then the layout. Fixing layout first is the most common wasted effort — a beautifully formatted document that does not answer the advert is still not getting an interview.
