What the service does
AlterCV scores a CV against a job description, rewrites and reformats it, generates cover letters, and indexes publicly posted jobs where there is evidence the employer can sponsor a work visa. By using altercv.com you agree to these terms.
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction.
Your content stays yours
- You keep all rights to the CV text, cover letters and documents you create. We claim no ownership.
- You grant us only the licence needed to process your content in order to provide the service — store it, transform it, and show it back to you.
- We do not use your content to train models.
- You are responsible for what you put in your CV. Do not upload anyone else’s personal data without their agreement, and do not misrepresent your history — that is between you and the employer, and it is your risk.
Acceptable use
Do not: resell or redistribute the service; scrape, spider or bulk-download the job index; attempt to bypass plan limits or authentication; upload malware; or use AlterCV to generate deceptive documents or spam employers. We may suspend accounts that do, without refund where the breach is deliberate.
The job board, and what a badge does not promise
This deserves stating plainly, because the whole feature rests on it.
- Listings come from employers’ own public job feeds. The canonical application lives on the employer’s site and you apply there, not here.
- A “register verified” badge means the employer’s name matched an official government source — the UK Home Office register of licensed sponsors, the Dutch IND register of recognised sponsors, or the Irish DETE list of employers issued employment permits. It confirms something about the company. It is not a promise that this role will be sponsored, which is always the employer’s decision.
- Where a country publishes no register, we say so and label the listing as the employer’s own claim.
- We are not an immigration adviser. Nothing on this site is legal or immigration advice. Visa rules, salary thresholds and occupation lists change; check the official source before relying on anything.
Plans, billing and refunds
- Free features are free. Paid plans are billed in advance through Razorpay.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future billing; your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds: if the service failed to do what it says — an export that will not generate, a charge for something you did not receive — email us within 7 days of the charge and we will refund it.
- We do not generally refund for change of mind after you have used the paid features, because the output is delivered immediately and cannot be returned.
- If we discontinue a paid feature you have already paid for, we refund the unused portion.
Refund requests: support@altercv.com, subject “Refund”. We reply within 1 business day.
What we do not promise
AlterCV is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a tailored CV will get you an interview, or that any listed employer will hire or sponsor you. Automated scoring and rewriting is a tool, not a guarantee — read what it produces before you send it.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination and changes
You may stop using AlterCV and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms. We may change these terms; material changes will be dated at the top of this page and, for signed-in users, notified by email.
